Watercolor Painting of Masquerade Mask - finished!

Masquerade Mask  8" x 8"  watercolor
I used three reference photos to paint Masquerade Mask.  It was a challenge.  The random pattern for the arm glove was inspired from a photo of a nylon stocking. The head reference photo with the mask was taken on a shopping trip to a store in Julian, California in which the model wore a high-collar denim jacket.  The torso was taken of the same model from a formal dinner photo. This is where my years of life-drawing and anatomy classes came in handy!

I love the idea of dressing up and mystery. A very fun and fascinating piece.
